Milton Berg

Milton B. "Buddy" Berg, 87, East Grand Forks, MN died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in Good Samaritan Heritage Pines, East Grand Forks. Milton Bernard Berg was born August 19, 1923 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Carl and Bella (Sannes) Berg. He was raised and educated near Reynolds, ND and worked on area farms in his early years. He managed the Farmer's Union Elevator in Buxton, ND for 16 years before attending the Hansen Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND. Upon completion he worked as a mechanic for Wilcox and Malm and the Farmer Union Gas Station, both in Grand Forks. He then worked for 23 years as a custodian for Holy Family Church and School before retiring. During retirement he continued to work part-time for the Bun Lounge and Racer's Bar. Milton married Gladys LaDouceur on September 4, 1950. She survives along with their children, Robert (Arleen) Berg, Randy (Shiela) Berg and Rita (Jeff) Miller all of Grand Forks, Rebecca (Gregg) Adams, West Fargo, ND and Renee (Dean) Selmonson, Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Francis Ritchie, East Grand Forks, Thelnore Mantos, Grand Forks, Eunice (Eric) Dietrich, Cavalier, ND; Sister-in-laws Jeanne LaDouceur, Jamestown, ND, Brother-in-law's Elwood Hillsland, Hamlet, CA, Howard Harrington, Blackfoot, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Burdell Davidson, and a great granddaughter, Sarah Marie. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Friday, July 22, 2011 in University Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks.
