Patrick Michael McMenamy

Patrick Michael McMenamy, 64, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, August 1, 2011 after a two year battle with cancer, in Altru Hospital under the care of Hospice Services. Patrick was born to Lawrence "Duke" and Betty (Gjelsness) McMenamy on March 17, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up and attended school in Grand Forks graduating from Central High School in 1965. Patrick McMenamy and Susan Shermoen were united in marriage at University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Together they raised two children Ryan Franklin and Erica Franklin White. Patrick attended UND and worked as an addiction counselor. Later he worked in the parts department at Hansen Ford and most recently at Rydell Chevrolet. Patrick was an avid sports fan, often attended UND football games and followed Minnesota Twins Baseball. He was known for his gentle and philosophical nature; he had an open ear for everyone. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence "Duke" McMenamy; nephew Cody McMenamy and a niece Heidi Holum.
