Eldon Merle Gade

Eldon M. Gade, 82, of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Eldon Merle Gade was born April 5, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Edward and Mary (Gehrmann) Gade. He grew up and attended school in Clinton, Iowa, graduating from Clinton High School, then graduating from the Clinton Community College. He then went on to attend Northern Iowa University, earning his masters degree there. Following his service in the US Army in occupied West Germany, he attended The University of Wyoming, from where he received his PhD. He began teaching at the University of North Dakota in September 1961, until retiring in 1994. He married Marlo Powers on September 1st, 1962, they were parents of Vicki Gade, who was born in 1965. Eldon is survived by: Wife: Marlo - of Grand Forks Grandson: Joseph "Joey" Hensel of Grand Forks Sister and Brother in law: Elayne and Bill Goldsmith, of Clinton, Iowa. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Vicki Ann Gade.
