Olga M. "Grandma C." Christiansen, 101, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Edgwood Vista, East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Olga Marie Jacobson was born on a farm in Walsh County, North Dakota, to Hans Jacobson and Anna (Hauge) Jacobson on December 3, 1909. Olga and Clarence Christiansen were united in marriage on April 18, 1928. She worked in the shipyards at Bremer, Washington. She was employed by Tweet's Grocery Store and later by Piggly Wiggly (Hugo's) for many years. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, Sons of Norway, Gyda Varden Lodge and was a foster grandparent for 20 years. Olga loved cards, bowled until age 82, and played happy birthday on the harmonica for her 100th and 101st birthdays. She enjoyed chocolate, wafer cookies, and people. Olga is survived by her children, Glenn (Laurie) Christiansen, East Grand Forks, Marian Enright, East Grand Forks, MN; daughter-in-law, Alyce Mae Christiansen, East Grand Forks son-in-law, Jim Weber, Thompson, ND; grandchildren, Terry (Laurie) Christiansen, Pam (Bob) Bergman, Todd Christiansen, Ryan Christiansen, Matt (Tania) Christiansen, Gary (Nancy) Enright, Jerry (Cheri) Enright, Gayle (Len)Vonasek, Allan (Shirley) Enright, Randy (Brenda) Enright, Scott (Joanie) Enright, Bryan (Ann) Enright, Michelle Enright, Mike Weber, Rick (Kim) Weber, Tim (Kim) Weber, Tom Weber, Patty (Chris) Schaefer, Steve Weber; forty-two great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren with one more coming in September; a sister, June Smith; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, who died in 1961; her parents; a son, Harvey; a daughter, Donna; son-in-law, Mick Enright; and siblings, Hank, Clara, George, Fritz, Stanley, Jeanette, Melvin, Ann, Tony, and Oliver. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation: one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Edgewood Vista, East Grand Forks.
