Jay Anderson

John "Jay" Anderson, 59. Grand Forks, ND, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. John Gordon Anderson was born October 8, 1951 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Elizabeth "Libby" P. Smith and James W. Anderson. He attended elementary school in Grand Forks, ND until moving to southern California. He then attended schools in Santa Barbara, CA graduating from San Marcus High School in 1969. Growing up in Santa Barbara, Jay was very good in sports and became quite an accomplished surfer. He continued his love for sports by watching his sons play ball and hockey. He was also an avid Sioux hockey fan. Jay enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his two sons Travis and Craig and also with good friends, Mike Bancroft and Nick Tharaldson (honorary son). The love of his life was his dog, Bear. Jay is survived by his sons, Craig Anderson and Travis Anderson of Grand Forks, ND and a daughter, Lisa, living in California; brother, Eric (Sheri) Anderson, Grand Forks and two nephews, Mitchell and Matthew Anderson of Grand Forks.
