Robert E. Behm, 73, Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, October 7, 2011 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare. Bob was born March 30, 1938 in Niagara, ND the son of William and Alma Behm. He grew up in the Michigan, ND area until his family moved to Grand Forks in 1951. He graduated from Grand Forks Central High School then attended Concordia State College in St. Paul, MN. Bob spent most of his life working in the Grand Forks grocery industry including Manager of Hugo's, Albertson's and most recently Sam's of Grand Forks. Bob loved to sing Christian songs and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene and his daughter, Kristy Behm. He has two very special granddaughters, Taylor and Annie. Bob was very active in their lives, helping raise them, taking them to church and dance classes. Bob is also survived by one brother, Bill (Mary) Behm, Grand Forks, ND and sisters, Elaine (Gene) Gemmill, Edinburg, ND, Eleanore Broton, West Fargo, ND, Eunice (John) Novick, Hastings, MN, Lorraine Abbott, Ramsey, MN, Delores Krogen, San Jose, CA, Verdell Smith, Graeagle, CA, Ione (Roger) Jacobson, Vancouver, WA and Marie (Floyd) Bye, East Grand Forks, MN. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved son, John; brothers, Vernon, Donald, Ervin, Virgil; sisters, Jeanette Siudyla and Irene Haugen. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Calvary Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
