Robert E. Kleve, 82, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at home. Robert Elick Kleve was born in McClusky, North Dakota on August 17, 1929 to Elick Oliver Kleve and Dorothy (Ployhar) Kleve. He graduated from high school at Bismarck, North Dakota. He graduated from the University Of North Dakota, and was active in ROTC. He served as an OSI officer in the US Air Force from June 20, 1951 until he was discharged on June 19, 1953. He later graduated from UND School of Law. Robert became a member of the North Dakota Bar on July 15, 1955, and on August 5, 1959 he was registered as an attorney with the United States Patent Office. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a member of Sons of Norway in Grand Forks and various civic and professional organizations. Robert married Maria "Kay" Snyder on March 4, 1961 at West Hyattsville, Maryland. They later separated. He is survived by: his children, Pauline (Tim) Graf, Davenport, IA, Mary (Mark) Jones, Wooster, OH, and Robert Kleve, Farmington, MI; two grandchildren, Jack Jones and Callie Jones; a sister, Donna Murry, Bismarck, ND; cousins, Dot and Milton From, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks with military honors provided by North Dakota National Guard Funeral Honors. Visitation: one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment: will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
