Mary A. Severinson

Mary A. Severinson passed away on Friday December 9, 2011 at4000 Valley Square-Woodside Village, in Grand Forks, ND. She was born in Reynolds, ND in March, 1912 and was almost 100 years old. She was the oldest of 12 children born to Joe E. and Caroline Adams. Her husband of 70 years, Leonard O. Severinson, preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons Ken (Eileen), Chanhassen, MN and Neil (Margaret), Clancy, MT. along with grandchildren Cindy Severinson, Grand Forks, and Scott Severinson, Chaska, MN and three great-granddaughters and one great grandson. Mrs Severinson graduated from St James High School and was an active member of St. Michael's Church in Grand Forks for over 70 years. She proudly served as Secretary of the Chemistry Department at the University of North Dakota for 25 years, retiring in 1977. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sisters Loretta Wyman and Agnes Beard and brothers, Romie, Howard and Ardell Adams. Surviving siblings include Agatha Myers, Doris Severinson, Colleen Bohm, Ruth Holweger, as well as Vernon and Eugene Adams, all of Reynolds, Thompson or Grand Forks, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 520 North 5th St, Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 with a 7:30 prayer service Tuesday, December 13, in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd Grand Forks, and one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. The family request that memorials be made to the charity of choice.
