Lloyd "Wayne" Wilhelm, 69, Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Wayne was born November 21, 1942 in Grand Forks, the son of Lloyd and Mildred (Ostdahl) Wilhelm. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School. Wayne worked for Forx Motors of Grand Forks before moving to Minneapolis, MN to work in the body shop of Viking Motors. He returned to Grand Forks to Work for Lloyd's Jewelry. He later owned and operated Lloyd's Jewelry until his retirement. During retirement, Wayne worked for Richard Kurtz Painting and Decorating. He most recently was driving for local car companies and Hertz Rental. Wayne was very much a family man. He especially enjoyed going on adventures with his wife and love of his life, Joann. He also enjoyed camping trips, making wood crafts and fixing up cars for his children. He was well known for his big bear hugs. Survivors include his wife, Joann, Grand Forks; children, Terry Wilhelm, Grand Rapids, MN, Joey (Jodi) Bjornson, Neche, ND, Vicky (Mark) Geller, Grand Forks; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Charles) Petersen, Bloomington, MN; step-brother, David Van Hoff, Kempton, ND. He was preceded in death by his son Todd; his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Wilhelm; step-father, Donald Van Hoff and his step brother, Donald R. Van Hoff. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Saturday, December 17, 2011 in United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Friday, (today) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
