Paul R. Meyer, 91, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, peacefully and happily at his home in East Grand Forks, MN, surrounded with love. Paul was born October 29, 1920, to Joseph & Emma Meyer in Grand Forks. He was a life-long member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He served in the 52nd Armored Infantry Battalion in the ETO. He was honorably discharged and decorated with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge. Paul was an active member of the DAV & American Legion. Paul married Deloris Wosick on Oct. 20, 1947 and they made their home in Grand Forks. He worked as a letter carrier in the US Post Office and was a rural route carrier in Northwood until his retirement in 1978. Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Deloris and children, Walter & Phillip Meyer, Emily Harrington and Nancy Pipiles and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings and son, Joseph L. Meyer II. FUNERAL MASS: 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church
