Alice Louise Owen

Alice Louise Owen, 81, died Wednesday, December 21 at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND. Alice Koning was born on January 20, 1930 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter of George and Mary Lemmers Koning. Alice married John B. Owen on June 11, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa. Alice and John moved to Grand Forks in 1966 with their two children. Both Alice and John were professors at the University of North Dakota. Alice is survived by her husband John of Grand Forks, her son John A. Owen of Roseville MN, daughter Nancy (Robert) Jackson, Hollywood, MD, her grandsons Christopher Owen and David Owen and her sisters Mary Bosker and Marcie Deblaey. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Koning. A graveside service in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date in 2012.
