June Lien

June C. Lien, 90, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, December 30, 2011 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. June Catherine Lien was born June 2, 1921 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Clarence and Hulda (Magnuson) Lien. She was raised near Merrifield, ND and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. June attended UND, St. Olaf College, Union Commercial College and the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women. She served her country in the US Navy WAVES during World War II. She lived in Philadelphia, PA, and Baltimore, MD before returning to Grand Forks. She was a legal secretary for many years, employed by local attorneys, John Shaft, and George Longmire. June was a member of the Sons of Norway Gyda Varden Lodge and United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, C. Ronald Lien and a sisters, Donna Holweger, and Marian Lien. Funeral Services will be together with the funeral for her sister, Marian Lien on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:30AM in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
