Carole Kleinsasser

Carole Kathryn Kleinsasser, 89, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the home of her daughter in Benton Harbor, MI. Our best friend, mother, and grandmother, passed peacefully surrounded and cared for by her family. Carole was born on February 18, 1922 in Grand Forks, ND to Walter and Regina (Stauss) Austin, the third of 12 girls. She was a life-long resident of Grand Forks, spending the last two winters with her daughter, Judy, in Michigan. She married Jacob Kleinsasser on August 10, 1940. They had three sons and three daughters. Carole was employed at Eddy's Bakery for 22 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Carole enjoyed visiting with all of her beloved neighbors on her back patio, and getting together with her sisters once a week for their "Out To Lunch Club". She also enjoyed visits from her children and many grandchildren. Carole is survived by her children; Carole Mumford of Albuquerque, NM, Judy (Larry) Eagle of Benton Harbor, MI, Paul (Doreen) Kleinsasser of Albuquerque, NM , Roland Kleinsasser of Houston, TX, John (Susan) Kleinsasser of Yankton, SD, Cynthia (Barry) Bartholomay of Agoura Hills, CA. 5 sisters; Angeline Austin, Darlyne Glinsmann, Joanne Driscoll, Virginia Austin, Paulette Holman, Sister-in-law Sarah Kleinsasser, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, her parents, 6 sisters, and 1 grandchild, Mark Mumford. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation is at the church at 10:00 am prior to the funeral. There will be an afternoon burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
