Kermit Larson

Kermit L. Larson, 91, Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in the Larimore Good Samaritan Center, Larimore, ND. Kermit Leonard Larson was born February 1, 1920 in Dazey, ND the son of Leonard and Bessie Larson. He graduated from high school at Dazey then from college at Valley City, ND. Kermit moved to Grand Forks to work for John Deere Co. In 1942 he entered the U. S. Marines. He served during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. In 1946 he returned to Grand Forks and worked for Deere and Company until retiring in 1978. Kermit enjoyed football and was an excellent football player in high school. He also enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and Golf. He was a member of the Eagle's, Elks and the VFW. He married Myra Jean Anderson on November 18, 1944. They were charter members of University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Myra died February 22, 2009. Survivors include son, Wayne Larson (Karen Krause), Hannaford, ND; son-in-law, Paul Cox, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Weber and their children, Kevin and Courtney, Minnetonka, MN and Ryan Cox, St. Paul, MN. Kermit was preceded in death by his wife, Myra; daughter, Bonnie Cox; sister, Betty Christopherson. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 14, 2011 in University Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
