Lyle Peter Voiss

Lyle Peter Voiss, 93, formerly of Grand Forks, died Monday, January 16, 2012, at Trillium in Bemidji, MN. Lyle Peter Voiss was born to Peter and Elsie (Styrlund) Voiss on March 20, 1918, in Grand Forks, ND. Lyle attended school in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central in 1937. Lyle married Ellen Kathryn "Kay" Kringlen on June 6, 1945, at Hatton, ND. They resided in Grand Forks until November 2007 when they moved to Park Rapids, MN. They moved to Bemidji, MN, in October 2010. Kay passed away on October 13, 2010. Lyle was employed by Greenberg Sheet Metal until 1966 when he began working for EAPC as a Mechanical Designer. He loved his work and retired at the age of 80. Lyle was a member of the Valley Memorial VM 1000 Club and Bethel Lutheran Church and served on the boards of both organizations. Lyle enjoyed wood working, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing Nintendo, watching sports on TV, and reading the newspaper. He is survived by six children, John (Patty) Voiss, Idaho Falls, ID, David Voiss, Henderson, NV, Patricia (Louie) Falk, Park Rapids, MN, Darlene (Stan) Nelson, Bemidji, MN, James Voiss, Brainerd, MN, and Dean (Sue) Voiss, Mountain View, CA; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ethlyn Bartuli, Grand Forks, ND, Kenneth Voiss, Neenah, WI, and Gerald Voiss, Grand Forks, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay and siblings, Doris Harter, Erma Gerou, Marjorie Boyle, Adrian Voiss, Darrell Voiss, Donald Voiss, Jean Storbakken and Alan Voiss. FUNERAL SERVICES: Friday, January 20, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church 1616 S. 17th St. Grand Forks. VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. formal sharing time on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks. BEMIDJI MEMORIAL SERVICES: Monday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Neilson Place Social Hall, 1000 Anne St NW, Bemidji, MN.
