David Bostrom

David Bostrom, 45, of Austin, Texas died on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at St. David's South Medical Center Austin. Dave was born August 13, 1966, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Donald and Joy (Wardner) Bostrom. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School in 1984. Dave graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Accounting Major. Following graduation he joined Kiewit Network Technologies of Omaha, NE as a Project Business Manager. For the past 18 years he has made his home in Austin, TX where he was employed by URS-Radian as a Project Accounting Specialist: by CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) as an Accounting Specialist, Alcoa Aluminum; and SVTC Technologies as their cost accountant. Dave's love of life and people was never diminished throughout his courageous battle with cancer. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Dave will always be remembered for his incredible spirit; kind, deep voice; wonderful sense of humor; infectious laugh; and the ability to make you feel good about yourself. Dave had a selfless concern for others and was a friend who loved unconditionally. He fully enjoyed life, work, friends, church and family. "Everyday is a gift from God", according to Dave, "a gift to be enjoyed." Dave is survived by his mother, Joy, Grand Forks, ND; brother, Douglas; sister-in-law, Paula; nephew, Jonathan; and niece, Hope, all of Allen, TX. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, C.A. and Alice Wardner and Edwin and Hazel Bostrom. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to: MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Sarcoma Medical Oncology 1400 Holcombe Blvd. FC 12. 3061 Houston, TX 77030 Attn: R. Adinin Memorial Service: 11 am, Saturday, February 11, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Visitation: one hour prior to service. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
