Nancy Beck

Nancy Ellen Beck of Fisher, MN passed away on February 5, 2012 at the Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit. Many loving family members and friends were with her at her bedside throughout her last day and final hours. Nancy was born to Walter and Edna Rice in Fargo, ND on March 19, 1944. She grew up in Arvilla, ND and graduated from Larimore High School in 1962. She married Carroll Beck in March of 1963. Together they made homes in Hatton, ND, Borup, MN, and Fisher, MN. Nancy and Carroll are members of Fisher Lutheran Church. Nancy was very strong in her faith and served in many roles at Winchester Lutheran Church in Borup, MN. She loved spending time with her grandsons, family, and many friends. She also enjoyed gardening, attending school, social, and church events, and working at the Fisher Cafe and with elementary students at Fisher Elementary School. She is survived by her loving husband, Carroll Beck; four children, Greg, Fargo, ND, Michelle (Tom) Kostrzewski, Grand Forks, Mitchell, Borup, MN, Jamie (Sara), Rangely, CO; grandsons, Ethan and Aaron Beck; a sister, Karen Verke; three nephews; one Aunt, Betty Fisher and Uncle, Art Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 10th at 1:00pm at Fisher Lutheran Church-205 2nd St. S. Fisher, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9th from 5-7:00pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church.
