LeRoy Milton Rud Sr. 73, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Valley Eldercare with his family by side after a long courageous battle with cancer. LeRoy was born December 13, 1938, the son of Carl Arthur and Claira Leonline (Huff) Rud in East Park Township, Marshall County, MN. He attended school in Middle River, MN. He later moved to Grand Forks where he married Patricia Lynette Edinger on June 29, 1963 at Grace Baptist Church, Grand Forks. They were blessed with two sons, LeRoy Milton Jr. and Michael Lee. LeRoy worked for Simonson's Lumber, UND Food Service, Northwest Communication, and Rhino Contracting. His work ethics lead him to his own tree service with his longtime friend, Laurin Gilbraith. LeRoy always put family first. His love for them showed in everything he did. He has such a strong love for the Lord, raising his children with a supper prayer. His hobbies included deer hunting with friends, projects in the yard, and winning a game of cards. He also loved spending time with his granddogs; Bella, Jake and Bitz. LeRoy is survived by his sons; Le Roy Jr. (Helen) Rud, Grand Forks, Michael Lee (Jennifer) Rud, Grand Forks, brothers; Carl Rud Jr., Kenneth Rud, Ernest Rud, sisters; Clarice Rasmussen, Christine Veselka, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Patricia, sisters; Jenny Rud, Clairlinda Cormier, Carol Wikstrom, brother, Arthur Rud and his beloved dog Sheba. Funeral: Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201. Visitation: Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5 -7 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service in Amundson Funeral Home. Interment: Will be held later in the spring at Memorial Park South, Grand Forks, ND.
