Dolores McIntyre of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on March 1, 2012, one day short of her 86th birthday, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Dolores enjoyed the comfort of her home until the short hospitalization preceding her death. Dolores Borge was born on March 2, 1926 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Edna (Finstad) and Peter Borge. She attended grade school in a rural Walsh county one-room school and graduated from Park River, ND High School in 1944. She subsequently took classes at Aakers School of Business and worked doing office and clerical work in Grand Forks, ND. Dolores married Edward McIntyre of Park River, ND on June 23, 1946 and they made their initial home near Inkster, ND where they farmed, operated a plumbing and heating business, and raised their three children. In 1968 they moved to Grand Forks where Dolores worked as bookkeeper for the family plumbing business and later worked many years for the Hanky Panky gift store. Dolores enjoyed dancing, playing cards, providing impromptu meals for friends and family, fishing (particularly with grandchildren), watching movies, and doing anything with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dolores is survived by her sister Betty Weber, daughters Lynne (Tom) McGrath and Gerrianne (Terry) Otterson, son James (Peggy), 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, parents, brothers, Parnell, Helmer, Glenn, Orphie, sisters, Esther, Helen, Lolly, and a grandson, Peter. **In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be directed to either Park Center Cemetery Fund, 7147 137th Ave NE, Park River, ND 58270, Meals On Wheels at Grand Forks Senior Center, 620 4th Ave So, Grand Forks, ND 58201, or your charity of choice. Funeral services: Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut Street, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service at United Lutheran Church. Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery in the spring.
