Samuel C. Wilkening, 4, East Grand Forks, MN died Friday, March 2, 2012 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND Samuel was born June 12, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Brett and Tina (Hensley) Wilkening. He lived in Grand Forks, ND before moving with his family to East Grand Forks, MN Sammy was a very special boy who captured the heart of everyone he met. He was a true fighter who defied the odds again and again. He loved dinosaurs, elephants, busses and most of all Elmo. His smiling face will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest now, Sweet Boy. Survivors include his parents, Brett and Tina, East Grand Forks, MN; grandparents, Ron and Betty Wilkening, grand Forks; great grandmothers, Bernice Wilkening, Sigourney, IA and Ella Binder, Baxter, MN; aunts, Rhonda (Rick) Spicer, Grand Forks, Brenda Stamper, Fairfield, OH and Sherr McMillan, Indianapolis, IN; uncles, Joe (Leslie) Hensley and Mike Hensley both of Gratis, OH; and numerous cousins. Samuel was preceded in death by his brother Chase Wilkening and his grandparents, Willard and Myrna Hensley. Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
