Cindy Green

Cindy R. Green, 52, Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Cindy Rae Lunski was born January 15, 1960 in Tacoma, WA the daughter of Donald and Shirley (Kise) Lunski. As a young child, she moved with her family to Grand Forks. She attended school at St. Michael's, Valley Jr. High School and graduated from Central High School in 1978. She also attended Aaker's Business College. Cindy married Brian Green on August 4, 1979 in Grand Forks, ND. She worked at Mexican Village before going to work for Community Bank which later became Frandsen Bank. Cindy was very involved with the Grand Forks Humane Society. She was always donating to them and watching the dogs on the website to make sure they were getting adopted. A good friend of Cindy's told us a story while she was in the hospital in that Cindy had been watching a certain dog on the Humane Society's web page that was not getting adopted and being that Cindy already has 3 dogs and a cat she knew there wasn't room for another pet, so like the kind-hearted lady she was, she sent an adoption fee to the Humane Society and told them that if anyone was looking at this particular dog, she would pay the adoption fee. That special dog was adopted 1 month later. It just shows the kind of person she was. She had such a huge heart. She also took great interest in attending her grandchildren's activities. Jerzee had skating every Tuesday, along with gymnastics every Thursday. Gracie had dance every Wednesday. Cindy never missed coming to watch the girls with their activities. The girls enjoyed her coming to watch so much that they had Cindy participating at gymnastics and dance. Cindy would always say at the end of class that she got more of a workout than the girls did. Cindy also enjoyed walking. Her walks would last hours long because she loved to visit people on her walks. She also loved to shop and spoil her grandkids with toys and clothes. Cindy is going to be missed by everyone. She was known so well in the community by her bright smile and kind heart. Cindy is survived by her husband, Brian, Grand Forks; Son Danny (Jessica) Green, Grand Forks; daughter, Justine Green (Cory Swingen), Grand Forks; three grandchildren, Gracie, Easton and Jerzee; parents, Donald and Shirley Lunski, Grand Forks; sister, Sherry (Dean) Lyste, Northwood, ND; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Lunski; her grandparents, and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Marjorie Green. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, March 10, 2012 in St. Michael's Catholic Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour before the funeral mass in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
