Victoria Charlotte Petriella (Gilbertson) came into this world on the 29th of June, 1954, daughter of Julius and Hannah (Enerson) Gilbertson. She was the youngest of four children. Her siblings were Donald, Judy and Elaine. She was born at the Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, ND and lived on the family farm by Niagara until the age of 5, when she moved with family to Grand Forks. She was baptized at the Dahlen Lutheran Church and confirmed at the University Lutheran Church. She graduated from Central High School in 1972. After graduating, she married Robert Petriella and moved to Hawaii. In 1973, she welcomed her first child, Jim, into the world. Later she moved to Ohio and then back to Grand Forks, where Stacey was born in 1975. She worked at the Eagles in East Grand Forks and Leevers and Hugos in Grand Forks for most of her life. She enjoyed coffee, visiting, cards, bingo, spending time with family and the occasional trip to the casino. She was an excellent cook, and was famous for her lasagna, macaroni salad and beautifully decorated watermelon boats. If you ever needed to know how much food to serve at any event, you just needed to give her a call. After moving back to Grand Forks, Vickie helped her mother care for developmentally disabled adults until now. Vickie was a very loving, patient and kind individual, with a laugh that could light up a room. She always made time for everyone around her and was right by your side no matter what. She taught us to always treat others the way we want to be treated, to make time for family and friends, and that patience is a virtue. She will be forever missed by all who knew her.
