Wes Rogers

Wesley C. "Wes" Rogers, 82, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, April 27, 2012 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. Wesley Claude Rogers was born February 4, 1930 in Pillager, MN the son of Claude and Nora Rogers. As a young child, he moved with his family to Fargo, ND. He attended high school and also worked for Union Stockyards of West Fargo, ND. Wes served in the U. S. Army in Germany from 1948 to 1952. While in Germany, he met Erna Schiessle. They were married August 8, 1951. They moved to Fargo, ND where Wes graduated from Dakota Business College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He worked for Northwestern Bell Co. and later for AT&T where he retired after 36 years of service. Wes was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and sporting events. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wes married Marlene Sparks on June 16, 1980 in Deadwood, SD. She survives along with Wes' children, Ellen (Tom) Myers, Champlin, MN, Terry (Patty) Rogers, Grand Forks, Tim (Peggy) Rogers, Grand Forks, Bonnie (Tristan) Berquest, Tacoma, WA, and Pam Hill, Billings, MT; Grand Children, Meghan Eichele, Dale Juve & Dan (Stephanie) Juve, Andrea (Brian) Simmons, Josh (Heidi) Rogers, Nick (Jena) Rogers, Shaun Rogers, Mitchell Rogers, Ashley (Adam) Kloster, Kayla Anderson, Kylie Tuttle, Melissa Hill; Great Grand Children, Shylin Eichele, Darin Eichele, Taylor Juve, Trevor Juve, Derrick Juve, Rachel Juve, Ryan Juve, Joshua Juve, Matthew Juve, Philomena Juve, Adelaide Simmons, Clara Simmons; sister, Florence Jivery, Mountain Iron, MN; sister-in-law, Nadine Rogers, Tucson, AZ. Wes was preceded in death by his first wife, Erna Rogers in 1978, by his parents, and by a brother, Ervin Rogers. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Augustana Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 6:45 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
