Danelle Rae Appel

Danelle Rae Appel , 41, of Grand Forks and formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, went home to be with the Lord and her parents, May 16, 2012 at Valley Memorial Home in Grand Forks, ND. Danelle was born June 24, 1970 in Thief River Falls, MN to Donald Jerome Appel and Neva Olivia (Langworthy) Appel. She attended school in St. Hilaire up to the fifth grade. Later she rode the school bus to Franklin Middle and Lincoln High until graduating in 1988. Danelle was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. During high school she volunteered at the hospital earning her an award for donating over 300 hours in a year's time. After high school Danelle attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks receiving a diploma in accounting. September 1990 she married Roger Riske and had two children, Cody and Ashley. Some of her memorial work experiences were working as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Valley Memorial Homes, Property Manager at Columbia Heights and President's Park, and Administrative Assistant at Wilbur Ellis which was her last before cancer made her stop working. She loved being with her family especially her kids as they were her world. She also enjoyed various activities like wood burning, painting, landscaping, camping, fishing, riding motorcycle, cross stitch and other various craft work. She had a special love for her pets. She raised many dogs the last one was Brutus, and had cats ever since she can remember. She felt giving birth to her children was the most important thing in her life. Another important event in her life was the family reunion and meeting cousins that she did not know. Danelle is survived by her children Cody and Ashley; siblings, LaNea Appel, Thief River Falls, MN, Steve (Vanessa) Appel, Thief River Falls, MN, Donna (Dennis) Iverson, Ellendale, MN, Mark (Kristi) Appell, Moorhead, MN, Ray (Tracy) Appel, Bemidji, MN; several nieces and nephews and many specials friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201 in Grand Forks.
