Deloris F. Meyer

October 4, 1927 — July 2, 2012

Peacefully and joyfully on July 2, 2012 Deloris F. Meyer was welcomed into God's arms. Deloris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul, their son, Joseph L. Meyer II, her parents Walter and Marie Wosick, her sister, Helen Cummings and five brothers, Wallace, Alex, Henry, Florian and Ben Wosick. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving brother, Dennis of Las Vegas, NV and she will be very greatly missed by her children, Walter Meyer of Thompson, ND, Emily Harrington of Crookston, MN, Phillip Meyer and Nancy Pipiles both of East Grand Forks, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in Warsaw, ND on October 4, 1927 Deloris reaped the benefits of hard work on her family's farm, perseverance through very difficult times and unquestioning faith in God by becoming a hard working, compassionate, faith filled and life-loving person. After graduating from Grafton High School she moved to Grand Forks to work. There she met Paul, the love of her life and they were married on October 20, 1947. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND where they raised five children. Deloris loved to sing whether along with the radio or lullabies. She loved poetry and the natural beauty of the Red River Valley farmlands. She had a "gusto" for living that was transmitted to all she met and will be remembered for being a comforter to all in any situation. She was an artisan of life. A funeral mass will be Friday, July 6, 2012 at 3:00 PM, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 524 5th Ave. North, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church.
