LaVonne Ann Grinde, 60, Grand Forks, died after a courageously fought battle with cancer, Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in her home. LaVonne was born January 16, 1952 in Northwood, the daughter of Ervin & Arveida (Broby) Korsgarden. She grew up in the Kempton area attending school in Kempton, and graduating from Larimore High School in 1970. She was baptized in Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She attended Aaker's Business College. LaVonne later received her Certified Compensation Professional Certificate. LaVonne married Tim Grinde on May 1, 1976 in United Lutheran Church. They made their home in Grand Forks, where Lavonne worked for Altru Hospital Systems for 37 years in Human Resources.She was a member of the NDAHRA, and served on the Med Park Credit Union Board for a number of years. LaVonne enjoyed cooking for people, and she loved taking pontoon rides at the lake and spending time with her grandkids. She was a very kind, generous, loving person. Everyone who crossed her path remembers her bright smile. LaVonne never left without leaving a lasting impression with her sparkling brown eyes and contagious laughter. Her selflessness made everyone want to strive to be a better person. LaVonne loved her family and friends dearly and cherished every minute with them. She doted on all her grandkids and instilled in them the great ability to love. They were all blessed to be able to call her "Nana". LaVonne is survived by her loving husband Tim, son; Shaun (Kristal) Grinde, daughter; Beth (Tom) Bock both of Grand Forks, sisters; Janet (Wayne) Morseth, Donna (Joe) Miller, Wendy Kennedy, brother; Richard Korsgarden, grandchildren; Darrian Grinde, Brynn Bock, Taylor Grinde, Braelyn Bock, Teagan Grinde, Hudson Bock, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Corey Grinde. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 from 5 - 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
