Marcy Radakovich

Marcy L. Radakovich, 74, of Grand Forks, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Altru Hospital with her family at her side. Marcy Lynn Johnson was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on April 5, 1938 to Oscar and Gerda (Oslund) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from Central High School and attended UND for two years. Marcy was united in marriage to Mylon Radakovich on August 27, 1961. Marcy cherished her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Nana." Nana spent her time with her grandchildren by attending all of their activities but more importantly she showered them with loving talks and cherished moments that brought them joy and profoundly impacted their lives. Nana's memory, care and loving touches will never be forgotten. Marcy enjoyed spending time at her cabin on Lake Plantagenet near Bemidji. She decorated the cabin with colorful flowers and enjoyed bonfires with family and friends. Marcy also enjoyed knitting and attending her grandchildren's hockey and basketball games. Nana is survived by her children, Jon Radakovich, Grand Forks, and Stacey (Dan) Gaustad, Grafton, ND; beloved grandchildren, Alex Gaustad, Brooke Gaustad, Gabbi Gaustad, and Grace Gaustad; a sister, Marian (Richard) Zejdlik, Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, Aunt Valborg Oslund, and Uncle Ragnar (John) Oslund. Nana will be deeply missed by her family and friends but her memory and our relationship with her will never end. We love you Nana! Funeral Services: will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
