Thomas R. Sannes

Thomas R. Sannes, 67, of Grand Forks, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Thomas was born July 30, 1945, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Ted & Agnes (Jacobson) Sannes. Thomas was raised and attended school in Grand Forks. Thomas enlisted in the US Army from 1965-67 and served in Germany. He was a personal driver for Army Generals. Following his military service, Thomas married Gail Fladeland in 1968, and they had one son, Thomas Jr. Thomas worked for Old Dutch in EGF for 24 years, and then worked for Barrel of Fun and Gurleys in Wilmar, MN for 21 years before retiring in 2007. Thomas enjoyed pets, nature, car racing, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, Thomas Sannes Jr of GF; brother, Bill Sannes of GF; sisters, Marcie (Norris) Loiland of GF, Bev Gravelle of GF, Gloria (Hank) Marynik of Bemidji, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Sannes; sister, Wanda. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at Amundson's. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND. MILITARY HONORS: N.D. Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors, East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157 & East Grand Forks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 3817.
