Elvin R. Jacobson

Elvin R. Jacobson, 87, of East Grand Forks, MN died Saturday, August 18, 2012 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Elvin Rudolph Jacobson was born January 13, 1925 in Finley, ND the son of Andrew and Tena (Wasness) Jacobson. He entered the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the Philippines and Korea before being honorably discharged. Elvin married Jean Ryan on January 26, 1966 in Grand Forks, ND. They lived and farmed in Beaver Creek Township until Elvin retired to East Grand Forks, MN. Elvin is survived by: Wife: Jean - East Grand Forks, MN Daughter: Michelle Jacobson - East Grand Forks, MN Brother: Morris (Ruth) Jacobson - Northwood, ND Sister: Phyllis (Harold) Keeler - Sumter, SC Sister-in-laws: LaVonne Jacobson - Larimore, ND JoAnn (William) Jacobson Hodny - Bismarck, ND Brother-in-law: Duane Olson - Altus, OK Several Nieces and Nephews Elvin was preceded in death by: His parents; brothers, Julian, Kenneth and Duane; sisters, Doris Olson and Arlene Jacobson. A memorial service will be on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 4:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Beaver Creek Church Cemetery, rural Hatton, ND at a later date.
