Jack Paul Mitzel

Jack P. Mitzel, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Laguna Hills, California. Jack was born on June 11, 1925 in Devils Lake, North Dakota, the son of Frank and Helen (Schneider) Mitzel. Jack grew up on a farm near Devils Lake. He graduated from Devils Lake High School and was involved with several class reunions throughout the years. Jack married Betty Repp December 2, 1951. They were married 59 years. Jack was in the farm equipment business for over 40 years. He enjoyed his time with International Harvester and Massey Ferguson. His work brought him much happiness as he loved to meet new people throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. Jack enjoyed golf and accomplished 2 hole in ones. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jack especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play football and basketball. Jack is survived by his sons, John (Michelle) Mitzel, grandsons, John Jr. and Robert of Aliso Viejo, CA. Lou Repp (Jewel) of Campbellsport, WI; grandchildren, Carol, Julie and Brian of WI; brother, Ned (Karen) and several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, brothers, Fred and Frank and sisters Pauline and Kay. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral service at Amundson's.
