Marcia Loy Williamson

Marcia Loy Williamson, 76, Grand Forks, North Dakota and formerly of Glasston, North Dakota, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at home. The daughter of John and Adeline Becker, Marcia was born May 11, 1936 in Backoo, North Dakota. Marcia married John M. Williamson July 18, 1958 and resided on their family farm in Glasston for 52 years. Marcia was active in the community for 40 years as a ceramic art teacher, winning numerous prizes for her works. Marcia was passionate about 4-H and was involved in the 4-H program for 38 years as a leader, judge and mentor. In 1997 Marcia was inducted into the NDSU 4-H Hall of Fame for service provided. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, Mark Richard. She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Jim) Bisson of Grand Forks, granddogs, Meko and Tanuki, and cat Boo. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Zion United Methodist Church, Grand Forks. Visitation: will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment: in Glasston Cemetery at a later date
