Ardell Thomas Omlid

Ardell T. Omlid, 77, of Grand Forks & formerly of rural Thompson, ND, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village in Grand Forks. Ardell was born February 10, 1935, in Grand Forks, the son of Andrew & Stella (Curry) Omlid. Ardell grew up in the rural Thompson area where he attended school. Ardell worked as a farmer all of his life. He married Mary Ann Brenna March 7, 1959, in Hatton, ND. He enjoyed watching baseball, listening to UND women's basketball, visiting with friends & neighbors, and most of all sharing his faith and love for his savior Jesus Christ. Ardell is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Grand Forks; son, Thomas (Rene') Omlid of Mayville, ND; step-grandchildren, Rebekah Henrickson of Bloomington, MN, Erika Henrickson of Tampa, FL, Jessika Henrickson of Mayville; brothers-in-law, Roger (Chris) Hjelle of Hudson, WI, David (Judy) Brenna of Lake Park, MN; sister-in-law, Orpha Omlid of Grand Forks and several nephews, a niece, great-nephews and great-nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ole (Phyllis) Omlid, William Omlid and sister, Mary Ann Hjelle. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15th, Walle Lutheran Church in rural Thompson, ND. VISITATION: 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village 4002 24th Ave. S. in Grand Forks. The visitation will continue for the hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT: Walle Lutheran Cemetery, rural Thompson, ND.
