Peter Ledbury

Peter "Dave" Ledbury, age 79, Minto, ND passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Altru Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born June 13, 1933 in Wolf Point, Montana the son of Frank and Nettie (Funk) Ledbury. He grew up in Sarles, ND and graduated from Sarles High School in 1952. He married Janice Giswold and had three children. Dave married Joan (Osowski) Robinson on January 21, 1977. The couple lived in Grafton and Grand Forks before moving to a farm near Minto, ND for 18 years where he enjoyed gardening and spending time helping Joan's father and brother with their family farm. After owning a restaurant and operating the Greyhound bus depot in Grafton, Dave went on to have a successful career as an agent and manager at Nodak Mutual Insurance in Grand Forks. Dave and Joan then moved to Grand Forks where they managed apartments and landscaped several properties around the Grand Forks area. The couple retired in 2012 and moved back to Minto, ND. Dave is survived by his wife, Joan of 35 years; daughter, Peggy (John) McNelis and their children Katy and Nick; and son Rick (Shelley) Robinson and their children Taylor and Tanner all of Grand Forks. Also surviving are his brother, Paul; daughters, Diane Mercil of Menomonie, WI and her children Andrew and Peter; and Barbara Ledbury of Charlotte, NC; son, Jerry (Linda) Ledbury and their daughter Jennifer of Des Moines, IA. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene, and sister Joyce Peterson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Amundson Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be sent to Altru Cancer Center in Grand Forks. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Cancer Center and Altru Hospital.
