Hattie Irene Blaufuss

Hattie I. (Stinar) Blaufuss Hattie I. Blaufuss, 87, of Grand Forks, ND, died on Monday, December 24, 2012, at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. She was born November 11, 1925, one of nine children, the daughter of Axel and Alma Nelson of Hatton, ND. After graduating from high school, Hattie moved to Grand Forks. She married Irwin E. Stinar on September 19, 1948, and they made Grand Forks their home. They were blessed with three children, Sandra Olson (Verdell) of Burnsville, MN; Sheryl Schwartz (Keith) of Rochester, MN; and Scott Stinar (Sue) of Grand Forks. Irwin died at the age of 41 on July 24, l969, due to complications from M.S. Hattie married Francis Blaufuss on August 9, 1974. He died on July 4, 1994. She worked at First National Bank in Grand Forks (Alerus) for 28 years, retiring in 1989. Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards, and spending time with family. She attended United Lutheran Church and was active in service to others. She lived out her Christian faith in Jesus Christ, leaving a faith legacy to her children and their families. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the four children of Francis Blaufuss and their families, and five sisters. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. The family has requested that memorials be designated to Valley Memorial Homes or United Lutheran Church.both of Grand Forks. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at Amundson's. INTERMENT: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
