Lois Lindblom, 85, passed away Friday, February 8th, 2013 at Valley 4000 - Woodside Village in Grand Forks, ND. Lois Irene Nelson was born on September 17th, 1927, in Harlan, IA to Ethel and Edwin Nelson. She grew up in Harlan and Walnut, IA. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She met J. Roger Lindblom at Iowa State, and they were married on May 30th, 1950, in Harlan, IA. Roger worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company; Roger and Lois lived in Omaha, NE and various locations before moving to Fargo, ND in 1960. They raised their family there and retired to San Diego, CA in 1982. Lois was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fargo and the Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church in San Diego. She was active in the Fargo Fine Arts Club and enjoyed supporting the arts in Fargo. She also was involved in PEO in both Fargo and San Diego. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed interior decorating. She is survived by her daughter Julie (Mark) Hall, Grand Forks, ND, son Scott Lindblom, Chicago, IL, 5 grandchildren, Lindsey Hall, Dallas, TX, Callie Hall, Minneapolis, MN, and Monica Lindblom, Andrew (Kristin) Lindblom, and Ryan Lindblom, all of Chicago, IL, her sister Edna Mae Petersen, Topeka, KS, and several nieces and nephews. Her niece Cindy Pauley Burchett, Harlan, IA, was very special to her. She is also survived by her caregiver and wonderful friend, Elaine Nelson, Grand Forks, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, and her sister, Margaret Pauley. Lois' family is appreciative of the kind and compassionate care given by those at Woodside Village and Wheatland Terrace at Valley 4000. At Lois' request, no formal services will be held. There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Valley 4000 - Woodside Village.
