James Huntington Bosard, 87, died at the Transitional Care Unit of Valley Eldercare after a brief illness. Born and raised in Warren Minnesota, the son of Gerald and Kaia Bosard, he is survived by sisters Jacqueline and Fern, 22 nieces and nephews and many friends. A US Marine Corps veteran of World War II, James was wounded in the battle of Okinawa receiving the Purple Heart and other commendations for his dedication. Following the war, Jim moved to New York City, where he worked in a French Restaurant until his retirement. Jim had a passion for horse racing - having owned a thoroughbred race horse - and was extremely interested in holistic health and diet and its interaction with the human body. Following his retirement, Jim moved to Grand Forks to be closer to family and enjoy a less hectic life style. Funeral Services will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery in the Spring.
