Kevin James Johnson

Kevin James Johnson, 34, of Gilby and Rugby ND passed away peacefully Wed. March 6, surrounded by family at his home in Gilby. Kevin was born Oct. 2, 1978 in Grand Forks, ND. He was the son of Greg and Edith (Hobbs) Johnson. He attended Midway Public School and UND. He worked for New Vision and later LM Glassfiber in Grand Forks. He started Kevin's Lawn Service in 1990 at 12yrs old in Gilby and extended his business to Rugby, ND where he resided with his girlfriend, Justine Fjellanger. Kevin loved to be to be out on his John Deere mower cutting lawns. He loved all sports, football, basketball, and baseball. But his passion was golf and you could find him out on the course anytime of the day, and he was an excellent player. Living in Rugby he discovered gardening and a love for doing home improvement projects. Kevin is survived by his parents, sister, Stacy, Grandmother Claire Johnson, a special niece and nephew, Hayley and Jordan Lorenzen, girlfriend Justine and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Herval and Irene Hobbs and Allan Johnson. FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Gilby Presbyterian Church in Gilby, ND. VISITATION: Sunday, March 10 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7pm prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will continue the hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
