A. Roger Kringlie, 85, of Grand Forks and formerly of Northwood died Friday, March 22, 2013 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. A. Roger Kringlie was born on July 10, 1928 in Portland, ND the son of Marcus and Clara Kringlie. He grew up and graduated from high school in Portland. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the Philippines and Okinawa. He returned from the service and attended Mayville State Teachers College, the University of South Dakota and the University of North Dakota. He received a Bachelor of Philosophy degree, Bachelor of Laws and Literature degrees and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota. He practiced law in Northwood, ND for more than 50 years. Roger married Julie Landman in 1955. Roger was a member of the KEM Temple of Shrine, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the VFW. He was a great storyteller and put his stories into a book titled "Tula's Tales". His love was his family and friends which he spent time with at the beautiful Lake of the Woods. Roger is survived by his wife, Julie of Grand Forks; sons, Tim (Angie) of Louisiana, Kim (Simone) of Louisiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sons David, John; and a brother Lyle. Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for one hour before the service in the church. Spring interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
