Jeannette Lawler, 92, died Monday, March 25, 2013 in her home. Jeannette was born Sept 5, 1920 in Hull, ND to John and Lemmie (Meinema) Hasper. She graduated from Hague High School and Capital Commercial College in Bismarck, ND. She married Terry Lawler on October 23rd, 1946. They resided in Linton where they made their home and were blessed by two daughters. After the death of her husband, she moved to Grand Forks, ND. Jeannette was employed by several branches of the USDA and the Emmons County Soil Conservation District. Jeannette was active in the community. She was a member of the Ground Observers Corps., several Homemakers Clubs, was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary: Dan R. Richardson Unit # 54 of Linton ND. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Linton, ND. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, painting, baking, music, gardening, and traveling. She loved to visit and correspond with family and friends far and near. Jeannette is survived by her daughters: Iris (Donald) Box, Phoenix, AZ, Terri (Ken) Jerik, Grand Forks, ND, brother, Arnold (Esther) Hasper, Aberdeen, SD, brother-in-law, Harris "Hoot" (Linda) Lawler, CA, sister-in-law Margaret Lawler, ID, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Terry, brother, John, 3 brother-in-laws; Frank "Bud", Murray, Clinton "Ike", 2 sister-in-laws; Phyllis Lawler, and Velma Lawler. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Wesley United Methodist Church,1600 4th Ave N. Grand Forks, ND Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service in the church. Undesignated memorials will be directed to Campus Crusade for Christ, The American Cancer Society, Teen Challenge or The North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
