William Roberts

William H. "Bill" Roberts, 70, Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at home. William Henry Roberts was born September 6, 1942 in Havre, MT the son of William and Hope (Goelle) Roberts. He attended schools and graduated from Havre High School in May of 1961. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he served with the LA Police Department for 12 years. He then moved back to Havre, MT where he went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad. A year later he was promoted to Foreman and worked in Laurel, MT and later Grand Forks, ND. In 1994, Bill began working with Rochester Armored Car. Bill was married to Patricia Corner in 1962. They had two children, William Dale and Debra Annette. In 1976, he married Donna Cowdery. She passed away in 1989. In 1994, he married Darlyne Storstad. She passed away in 2006. In 2007, he married Christine (Schneider) Schill. She survives along with; children, William (Chris) Roberts and Debra (Fiancé, Derrick Keenan) Roberts; grandchildren, Alex, Ethan, Drew, and Fayth Roberts; 9 step children; 26 step grandchildren; brother, Thomas Roberts, Havre, MT; sister, Phyllis Tovar, Kansas. Bill is also survived by his faithful friend, his dog, Bandit. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vera Denton; and a step grandson, Harold Schill, III. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 1, 2013 in Sharon Lutheran Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Langdon, ND at a later date.
