Anna Mae Reimer, 91, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, April 1, 2013 in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks. Anna Mae Peterson was born on May 28, 1921 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Walter and Julia Peterson. She had four siblings, Woodrow "Woody", Agatha "Gath", Hazel and Jackie. Mae grew up and graduated from Central High School in East Grand Forks. She married Gordon Reimer on June 15, 1941. Gordon passed away on Feb. 13, 2004 after 62 years of marriage. Her family and friends were the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) club for 43 years. She had a sharp mind and she loved keeping up with current events by reading the Grand Forks Herald every day and solving the Jumble word scramble game. Mae was a bright, kind, independent woman of strong faith who faced death the same as life, with grace and dignity. Mae is survived by her sons, Robert (Sue) Reimer and Jim (Lisa) Reimer; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer), Chris and Melissa; three great grandchildren, Madison, Annabele and Colin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, parents and siblings. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks. Interment will take place later in the spring at Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
