William "Bill" Meenk, 74, of Grand Forks, ND departed to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. William Jay Meenk was born on November 12, 1938 the son of Jacob and Marie Meenk. He grew up and attended school in Lynden, Washington. Bill married Judith Betz on October 1, 1958 in East Grand Forks, MN. They made their home in Grand Forks where Bill worked for many different companies in the area as he was very talented in many professions. He attended Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN and was very active in the Electronics department. Bill was a big help in organizing Electronics department cookouts and events. He also was a big help with the High School VICA convention as well as attended several State College VICA conventions. With Bill's passion for electronics, he and a former classmate formed their own club, "HarBill Electronics Repair". Spending a lot of time on the Dean's list, Bill graduated head of his class in 1992 from NCTC, TRF. With his unique perspectives Bill was an amazing role model and enjoyed long trips on his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends. His love for the Lord flourished until his last breath. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Meenk; sons, Tim (Jean), John, and Robert; grandchildren James (Robyn), and Amanda (Fiancé, Matt); great grandchildren; Zachary, Jacob, and Ethan. "Sr. Will" will be greatly missed by his adopted family, Joe, Elda, and Joseph Atilano, and "his" girls; Laura, Jacey, Jenni, and Katelyn Atilano; as well as by his church family and friends He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Marie Meenk. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:45 PM at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S 42nd St., Grand Forks. Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, April 10, at 11:00 AM at Faith Community Church, 1106 S 17th St, Grand Forks, ND. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
