Evangeline Louise Soderberg

Evangeline L. Soderberg, 91, of Grand Forks, died Sunday, May 5th, 2013 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Evangeline was born June 5, 1921 in Hatton, ND, the daughter of Lewis & Evelyn (Olson) Beck. She attended school and church in rural Hatton. Evangeline married Alvin Soderberg July 24, 1943. She worked various seasonal jobs. She was the head cook of Central Valley School, worked in Piggly Wiggly Bakery, and most recently as a housekeeper at the UND Rehabilitation Hospital until her retirement in 1986. Alvin died in 1967. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and spending time with family. Evangeline is survived by her daughters, Deloris (Darrell) Lilleberg of Cummings, ND, Ann Berry of Grand Forks, Deborah (Don) Sayler of Fargo, ND; siblings, Lester (Pearl) Beck, Carroll Beck, Hazel Anderson and Gloria (Sherman) Thykeson; grandchildren, Paul Lilleberg, Cindy (Mike) Doeden, Teresa (Doug) Kollasch, Daniel (Kendra) Sayler, Denise (Ben) Pederson, Lori (Paul) Skjervem, Lisa Rittel, Kirk (Danielle) Holvedt, Billy Holvedt, Angie Hotvedt; great-grandchildren, Mason, Sheldon, Ashley, Kadie, Travis, Caitlin, Shaylie, Evan, Zachary, Hannah, Carter, Lilly and Dustin; sister-in-law, Dolores Beck; brothers-in-law, Clarence Heinrich & Donald Kampaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; daughter, Betty Hotvedt; brothers, Curtis, LeRoy, Robert, Charles Beck; sisters, Bernice Heinrich, Ethel Kampaugh, Caroline Beine and infant sister Eraline Beck. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND. VISITATION: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8th at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201. Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the service at the church.
