Bonnie Jean Coss

Bonnie Jean Coss, 86, Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. Bonnie Jean Westacott was born January 25, 1927 in St. Michael's Hospital, 813 Lewis Blvd, Grand Forks to Basil and Mildred (Beaton) Westacott. She was raised 5 miles north of grand Forks and attended Falconer District #11 grade school. They moved to Thief River Falls, MN in 1939 and Bonnie graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944. She attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks and Northern Pacific Railroad School in Jamestown, ND. Bonnie worked at Midwest Motors, The North Dakota Division of the U. S. Treasury in Jamestown, The Registrar's office of the University of North Dakota and the Uptown Café. She married Charles "Bud" Coss of Grand Forks on November 6, 1947. They had five children. Bonnie was a volunteer for both Altru Hospice and Meals on Wheels for more than 15 years. Survivors include her children, Terry (Amelia) Coss, Portland, OR, Cliff (Marilyn) Coss, Grand Forks, Kathy (Gary) Deziel, Thompson, ND, Steve (Pam) Coss, Grand Forks; brother, Dick (Del) Westacott, Union Lake, MN; 11 grandchildren, Corey , Jayson, Kenny, Nicole, Danny, Jayme, Meredith, Chrissy, Cady, Jay, Jesse and 18 great grand kids Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles(Bud); son, Kenneth Coss and a brother, Robert (Bob) Westacott Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Wesley United Methodist Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church.
