Bonnie Suelter

Bonnie Joyce Suelter, 69, Grand Forks, ND, passed away on June 21, 2013. She was born August 27, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND to Hazel and Harvey Suelter. Bonnie had a developmental disability and lived part of her life at the Grafton State School. In the 1980's Bonnie moved from Grafton back to Grand Forks where she lived with a roommate under the supervision of loving caregivers at REM homes. She attended a day program at Agassiz Enterprises. These were very happy years for Bonnie. She loved the routine that her caregivers provided. She loved beads and spent many happy hours stringing and sorting them. She also enjoyed Polka music and all things Christmas. She loved to sing and was familiar with several hymns and Christmas Carols. She went shopping every week at Hugo's with a caregiver and her roommate. She anticipated these outings and looked forward to interacting with her "friends" at Hugo's. She loved babies, children, and animals. She loved life and her joy touched many during her lifetime. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Hale of Loveland, Colorado and dedicated caregivers, Carol, Gretchen, Lori, Jana, Georgia and Sheila. Her friends and family would like you to join in a celebration of her life on Sunday, June 23 at 2 Pm at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Altru Hospice of Grand Forks.
