Glenna Hanson

Glenna Diane Hanson, 62, Grand Forks, ND, went into the loving arms of God on June 24, 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Glenna Diane (Settingsgard) Hanson was born on July 21, 1950 in Devils Lake, ND. A natural caregiver, Glenna loved being a mom and devoted her life to her two daughters, Julie and Cynthia. Glenna enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, and instilled the joy of cooking in her daughters. Glenna's caring nature extended into her professional life. She earned two degrees in teaching and social work to become a Family & Consumer Science teacher and worked for various programs with the overarching theme of helping others. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, dancing, spending time with her many dear friends, and walking her beloved dog Lucky. Glenna is survived by her parents, Grant & Donna Settingsgard, Edmore, ND; daughters, Julie (Jeff) Graney, Beulah, ND and Cynthia Hanson, San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Adam and Kaitlyn Graney; and brothers, Lee (Barb) Settingsgard, Edmore, ND and Kendal Settingsgard, Bonsall, CA. Glenna was predeceased by her sister, Colleen Settingsgard. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28 from 5 - 7pm at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 10:30 am at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.
