Annsley "Al" Mickelson

Annsley "AL" LeRoy Mickelson, 89, of Grand Forks, ND died Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Northwood Deaconess Health Center, Northwood, ND. Annsley L. Mickelson was born on July 19, 1923 in Finley, ND the son of Mickel John and Anna Marie (Benson) Mickelson. Al served in the US Army from Jan. 8, 1943 to Feb. 28, 1946. He graduated from UND with a degree in accounting and worked for various trucking agencies as a bookkeeper and accountant. In retirement Al worked at the UND dispatch center and volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center in Grand Forks. He was also a lifelong member of the East Grand Forks American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his four children; Larry of Northwood, Bruce (Elaine) of Grand Forks, Cheryl Davis of Butler, Georgia and Debbie Mickelson of Watertown, New York; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, a daughter, Kathy Jo and one grandson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Northwood Deaconess Health Center Chapel. Burial will take place at the Finley City Cemetery, Finley, ND. Military honors will be provided by the ND Army National Guard.
