Robert "Bob" Myron, 94, Rural Thompson, North Dakota, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at home. Bob was born on Sep 28, 1918 in Abercrombie, ND to C. Alvin and May (Scoville) Myron. He grew up in Abercrombie and graduated from high school there in 1936. After working for a year at a CCC camp in Sidney, Montana, he moved to Fargo, ND, where he worked in sales for Fargo Glass and Paint. While in Fargo, he made his commitment to his Lord and Savior, and began his lifelong walk of faith. There, he met the love of his life, Doris Belle Swenson. They were united in marriage on Dec 25, 1941, and enjoyed 71 years together. Bob was soon drafted thereafter, and served for nearly four years as a medic in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon his return, he began farming with his father-in-law, John Swenson near Thompson, ND. He continued farming there until his retirement in 1983. Bob and Doris loved their farm neighborhood and community, where they continued to reside during their retirement. They hosted a Sunday morning Christian fellowship group in their home for many years. Bob is survived by his wife,Doris and his children, Duane (Sharon) Myron of Thompson, ND, Cheryl Hatlestad of Kent, Washington, and Dianne (Larry) Larson of Grand Forks, ND. His seven grandchildren include Tim (Char) Myron, Joni (Kelly) Grotte, Jim (Jessica) Hatlestad, Darci Lee, Elizabeth (Jason) Sillers, Andrea (Chris) Endicott, and Kari (Aaron) Arvig. He is survived by 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and sisters in-law, Verona (Howard) Myron and Judy (Clair) Myron. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, by a sister, Florence, by brothers, Howard, Kenneth, and Clair, and by a brother in-law Dean Swenson, and sisters in-law, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Myron and Emma (Clair) Myron. The family wishes to thank the special caregivers, the Altru Hospice team, and family and friends for their care and support. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service all in the funeral home. Interment will be in Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, North Dakota.
