Marvin Eugene Dahl

Marvin Eugene Dahl, 76, Grand Forks, died September 19, 2013 at Altru Hospital surrounded by his family. Marvin was born March 20, 1937 in Fargo, the son of Elmer and Thea Dahl. He grew up in West Fargo and Harwood. The family then moved to East Grand Forks to farm. He attended Agricultural School in Crookston. He served in the Air Force. Marvin then began a career as a civil servant, working at the Grand Forks Air Force Base and served in the Army National Guard where he earned the rank of sergeant. Marvin married Betty Christensen on August 12, 1974. Once he retired, Marvin drove school bus for Dietrich Bus Service. Marvin liked to read western books and watch western movies. He also liked gardening, camping and spending time with family and friends. Marvin is survived by his wife of 39 years Betty, children; Janine (Al) Leggett, Tigard, OR, Bradley Dahl, Dubuque, IA, Thea (Kevin) Bergland, Avon, MN, Cory Dahl, Grand Forks, grandchildren; Alana, Naveya, Lucas, sister; Dolores (Arlo) Douglas, Morehead, MN, sister-in-law; Corrine Dahl, Grand Forks, ND and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Earl. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Augustana Lutheran Church, 520 University Ave Grand Forks, ND 58203. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service in the church.
