Lee "Catfish" Edward Kohl, 64, of East Grand Forks, MN died Saturday Sept. 21, 2013 at home. Lee Edward Kohl was born February 13, 1949 in Grand Forks, ND to Emma (Kutz) and Edward Kohl. Lee graduated from Central High School in 1969 and attended college in Colorado. He married Susan McKinnon in October 1972. He married Diane Berry in February 1994. Lee enjoyed being a truck driver and traveling the country. He most recently worked local jobs for Corbett Trucking, Transystems, and S&S Trucking. Over the years he has worked for many area farmers helping with the fall harvest. Lee loved hockey, especially Fighting Sioux Hockey. Lee skated around in a "Kermit The Frog" suit between periods at the old Ralph Engelstad Arena from 1979 to 1983 and the Hamm's Bear Costume from 1983 to 1984. Lee also loved deer hunting, racing and fishing. He fished for walleye on Devils Lake and catfish on the Red River. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Lee is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (John) Kohl-Fichtner, Thompson, Lisa (Kohl) Coughlan, Apple Valley, MN, grandchildren, Parker and Adam Fichtner, and Sydney Coughlan, sister Jackie (Kohl) Pilak, Grand Forks, nephews Troy Klein, Bismarck, and Edward Pilak, Grand Forks, 3 great-nephews and 1 great-nice. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Edward. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201.
